Moshe Hammer: A naturalized Canadian, Moshe Hammer has performed in the major concert venues of the world and with many symphony orchestras. He was founder and artistic director of the celebrated Toronto-based chamber group, The Amadeus Ensemble. Admired for his artistic style, extensive repertoire, unique interpretations and vibrant tone, Hungarian- born violinist Moshe Hammer was raised in Israel, where he studied violin with Ilona Feher. He later traveled to the United States to study with world renowned violinist Jascha Heifetz. Moshe Hammer was subsequently a medal winner at the Concours Jacques Thibaud in Paris.

For several years, Moshe Hammer has been Special Guest Artist at the Peter de Grote Festival in the Netherlands where he is a popular and respected teacher at the summer music school program at the Conservatory coaching promising young violinists to the next, advanced, stage of their musical development.

He received the Tikun Olam Award by Ve’ahavta, a Canadian Jewish charitable social service organization dedicated to promoting positive change in the lives of people of all faiths who are marginalized by poverty. Since 2007, Moshe Hammer has dedicated most of his time to founding and developing The Hammer Band – from Violence to Violins – a music program to help kids change their tune.
